Jacqueline DeAmor, the founder of Friends for Life Rescue Network, received a call about a tiny kitten with a unique cleft nose that required urgent care. Without hesitation, she volunteered to assist and embarked on a four and a half-hour journey to rescue the kitten named Bonsai. Despite being small enough to fit in the palm of a hand and fragile due to her condition, Jacqueline was determined to ensure Bonsai’s well-being and help her overcome any obstacles that came their way. She acknowledged that cleft nose kittens often have other genetic issues, so she vowed to keep a close eye on her and provide the necessary support for her to thrive.

Bonsai was born with a cleft nose and mouth and required constant care in the beginning. Despite being stable for a few days, her condition took a sudden turn for the worse, leading to her needing intensive care. Jacqueline explained that they suspect she aspirated formula while sleeping, causing pneumonia to develop.

The Friends for Life Rescue Network volunteers quickly brought in an oxygen concentrator to help the struggling kitten breathe. Gradually, her breathing improved, and she began to show signs of strength. Eventually, she even showed interest in eating and was stabilized in an oxygen and incubator setup.

Tiny Bonsai, smaller than the size of a hand, was given a new lease on life thanks to the caring volunteers at Friends for Life Rescue Network. With their love and tender care, she thrived and reached an important milestone when she turned one week old. Not only was she thriving in terms of her health and size, but she also surprised everyone with her adorable habit of giving hugs.

Upon waking up, she was greeted by the sight of her surroundings for the very first time. According to Jacqueline from Love Meow, the little baby she was caring for was the sweetest. They would cuddle after feeding, which seemed to help her burp while she gently petted her. The baby enjoyed grooming Jacqueline’s face and holding it with her tiny paws.

Even though Bonsai was small in size, she had a powerful purr that she would unleash whenever she was around her human companions or when she found something soft to knead on. She was truly the reigning queen of making biscuits.

At just two weeks old, little Bonsai is flourishing under the care of her dedicated foster mom. She’s happily putting on some weight, becoming more agile on her tiny legs, and using her oversized paws to give the most adorable bear hugs. She’s starting to show an interest in her environment and loves to watch over her human friends as they go about their daily tasks.

She adores nestling herself in a cozy blanket, like a snugly purrito. When Bonsai isn’t being cuddled up in a blanket, she can be found snuggled close to her humans in their embrace. She has perfected the art of hugging and has become a devoted love-bug, spreading joy wherever she goes.

Bonsai, the adorable pup from Friends for Life Rescue Network, is gradually growing bigger and her fluffy coat is also flourishing into a charming little mohawk that she flaunts proudly.
