Young Edward came into the world at Richmond Animal Care and Control and soon found himself in the care of his foster mother, Megan Timberlake.
“At around the 1-pound mark, we noticed that his head was a bit larger than usual, and our vet diagnosed him with hydrocephalus,” Megan shared with Love Meow. “He faced some initial challenges with feeding and growth, but he quickly adapted.”
“I couldn’t help but fall in love with him the moment I saw him, so I brought him home. I fostered him for a while to ensure he was doing well, and we waited until he was bigger and stronger before getting him neutered. It was during this time that we discovered he also had entropion, which required surgery in addition to his neuter.”
According to Megan Timberlake from Richmond Animal Care and Control, the veterinarians at Prevent A Litter successfully treated his eye condition. The little feline friend recovered swiftly and is now thriving. “He is absolutely amazing, incredibly affectionate, and managing well with his hydrocephalus. He’s a fortunate kitten who hasn’t experienced any issues with it yet. Surprisingly, he doesn’t require any medication at the moment,” shared Megan with Love Meow. Despite his petite stature, Edward has a huge heart.
According to Megan Timberlake from Richmond Animal Care and Control, Edward has an amazing personality. He is affectionate and cheerful, truly enjoying every moment of life. At night, he loves to cuddle and hold onto his human while sleeping. They shower him with a variety of toys that bring him immense joy.
According to Megan Timberlake, Edward has a special way with animals that puts them at ease. He effortlessly connects with everyone in the household, whether they walk on four legs or two. He enjoys snuggling with his sister, Luna, showing her affection and love.
According to Megan Timberlake, he shares his home with three cats and three dogs. One of his feline companions, Gulliver, is blind, but despite that, he is Edward’s closest friend. The bond between Edward and Gulliver is strong, and they enjoy each other’s presence immensely.
Thanks to his medical condition, young Edward is doing exceptionally well!
With an unwavering zest for life, he has demonstrated repeatedly that no obstacle is too great to dampen his spirits. Following his surgery, the resilient little companion was filled with joy and contentment as he purred affectionately in the presence of his beloved human companions.
According to Megan Timberlake, her cat Edward is very loving and craves attention. He enjoys being held and cuddled while watching TV, and loves having his neck scratched. Megan also mentioned that Edward eagerly waits for her to come home at night, and purrs excitedly when she arrives. He even accompanies her to work occasionally, where he happily allows everyone to hold and snuggle him.
Originally, Megan intended to take care of Edward temporarily until he was ready for adoption, but the tiny grey cat ended up becoming a permanent part of her home. Megan is thrilled to have adopted him, describing him as a lovable companion who never leaves her side. Edward shows his gratitude every day by expressing his joy for being cared for and loved.
